University Director Søren Munk Skydsgaard

Søren Munk Skydsgaard took up his position as University Director at the University of Copenhagen on 1 May 2023. He was born in 1969 and holds a master’s degree in economics from the University of Copenhagen, 1998.

The University Director reports to the Rector.

The Rector, the two Prorectors and the University Director constitute the University’s top day-to-day management.

Søren Munk Skydsgaard is responsible for four of the Central Administration departments: Campus Service, HR, University Finance, and University IT. Each department is headed by a Director, who reports to the University Director.

Previous jobs

From 2011 until his employment with the University, Søren Munk Skydsgaard was Resource Director in Social Services in Copenhagen Municipality.  Prior to that, he has been Finance Director of the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration, Head of Office at the Danish Agency for Science, Technology and Innovation and Deputy Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ innovation office.
