University Director Jesper Olesen

Jesper Olesen took up his position as University Director at the University of Copenhagen on 1 May 2015. He was born in 1966 and holds an MSc. in political science from Aarhus University, 1992.

The University Director reports to the Rector, who together with the Rector, the two Prorectors and the deans constitute the University’s Senior Management.

Jesper Olesen is responsible for four of the Central Administration departments: University Finance, University IT, Shared HR and Campus Service. Each department is headed by a Director, who reports to the University Director.

Previous jobs

From 2011 until his employment with the University, Jesper Olesen was Director of Administration in the Ministry of Business and Growth. In that position he was in charge of the ministry's enterprise management and organisational development, cross-organisational financial management and HR tasks and the handling of the ministry's institutions and agencies. Before that he held several other administrative management positions with the Ministry of Economic Affairs, among others.
