Open house
Every year in week 9 the University hosts an Open House event for potential students where you can learn more about the programmes. -
Matriculation ceremony
The matriculation ceremony marks the beginning of an academic career. It is celebrated by a party held in the study start week. -
Annual Commemoration
The University of Copenhagen was founded in 1479. Ever since, the University has celebrated its foundation at an annual event. -
Sonning Prize
The Sonning Prize is the biggest cultural prize in Denmark and is awarded typically every other year at the University of Copenhagen.

Science Festival
The Science Festival is a three-day event held every year in April/May by the Ministry of Higher Education and Science. -
Denmark's Political Festival
The Political Festival on Bornholm is an annual political festival where politicians meet citizens, business people and organisations in an informal setting in the town of Allinge. -
Danish Science Festival
(in Danish only) Every year in week 39 the Danish Science Festival highlights natural sciences at Denmark’s primary and secondary schools. -
Copenhagen Pride
The LGBT festival takes place in August and ends with a parade from Frederiksberg Town Hall Square to the City Hall Square in Copenhagen. -
Culture Night
On the annual Culture Night in October - always the Friday of week 41 - the University opens its doors to visitors of all ages.
