Update May 2025
Dear all,
Summer is almost here and we are off to a great start in the society, so we thought it would be appropriate to take stock of what is going on.
As you all know, we have set up an Absalon room for the Society, where you will be able to see activities, including meeting minutes and relevant readings etc., Here you’ll find the different tracks that were co-designed at the very start of the society. Invitations for meetings are sent to all, and it is really great to see the interactions that take place across the different cohorts as activities are shaped within tracks.
In Absalon, you will also see the latest version of the Blue Book. Thanks to all for sending photos and bios. An annual wheel (updated regularly), Codes of Harmony and other general documents are also to be found in Absalon. Finally, we’ve uploaded a version of the draft statutes for the society.
All tracks are dynamic and on-going, so please do attend/reach out at any time/accept the invites so we are as many hands on deck as possible. Working groups are formed to lead specific activities with engagement of all.
For now, tracks consist of:
- Research Leadership: with a conference on research leadership challenges being planned for the fall. Lots of discussions taking place, including dilemmas, shared leadership, ambition, managing change, creativity and types of leadership, and courses/learning activities needed.
- Personal Development: several activities underway including a Barley, Beer and Barbeque summer social event June 5th, writing retreats and wine & conversation events.
- Statutes: based on the discussion of the draft statutes at the meeting in December, a smaller group has continued the drafting process. After a round of feedback from experts, we will circulate again for feedback and input. The statutes will be agreed upon at the general assembly planned for the end of the year where the next UCPH Forward cohort will also join us and a new leadership group is to be elected.
We are also working on a website for the Society that can convey our mission and value to the wider UCPH community.
