Update December 2025
Dear Fellows,
Christmas is approaching and so the closure of a fruitful year!
In our last newsletter, we highlighted the Society’s strong start, the launch of our Absalon space, and ongoing work on the website, the Blue Book, and our articles, as well as the planning of activities within the 2025 tracks, including the Research Leadership and Personal Development tracks. We are pleased to report that all these initiatives have now been completed.
Congratulation to the fourth UCPH Forward Programme!
The 4th cohort graduated last fall after an inspiring and exciting year of the UCPH Forward Programme. Among other tasks, cohort IV worked on three rector assignments: “onboarding”, “teaching paradox” and “academic freedom”.

General Assembly
During the General Assembly, we welcomed the fourth cohort of the UCPH Forward Program. Although it was a bit of a cold affair, we managed to pull through. The two main topics of the general assembly were the election of Co-Presidents as well as the articles of association (more on that later).
Céline Galvagnion was elected as a new Co-President. Céline will join Maria Kristiansen and Tim Rudbøg, the two of whom will continue their role for another year. Together, the co-presidency ensures both continuity and renewed energy in the Society’s leadership as we move into the next phase of our work.
A discussion on differing between active and passive members of The Society of Fellows followed, which will continue in 2026 in which a solution is to be found.
Finally, a dialogue on the Articles of Association took place at the meeting. The General Assembly granted Maria, Tim, Niels Valdemar, and Janus the mandate to clarify and amend the articles where necessary before circulating them for a general vote.
Society of Fellows statutes approved!
We are pleased to let you know that the statutes have been approved with 63 votes for and 0 votes against.

Society of Fellows in 2026
In the new year, several initiatives have already been set in motion. By now, all of Cohort IV should have been added to Absalon. The tracks for 2026 that have been decided on are so far Research Leadership, Wellbeing and Academic Freedom, into which we hope to incorporate as many ideas from Cohort IV as possible. Furthermore, a Grant Lap, organized with UCPH Forward is in the works. More details on the above will be revealed at the beginning of 2026.
We look forward to 2026 and the exciting activities from the society, including but not limited to co-organised grant writing workshops, new tracks to be proposed and decided at a meeting in the new year (to be announced – stay tuned!).
We wish you all a merry Christmas and a happy New Year!
